Mon-Sat: Word & Prayer

November 9, 2008 - Pastor Ed Kang

We hear God's words every week, but as powerful as words are, they are only powerful if you listen to them and let them get into your being. In our day, however, God's words have lost meaning perhaps because they have become too familiar to us. How can we, as Christians, put into practice the words we hear each week? We need to get God's words into our heads through listening to, reading and studying the word of God instead of thinking it's for someone else or thinking that it doesn't apply to me. When the content in our heads becomes our passion and conviction through reflection and meditation, it is felt in our hearts and then carried out in small acts of obedience through our hands. We need to be deliberate about employing structures in our lives to help us to take God's words seriously. ( notes)
