1 John 1:8-10. There are many ways to claim to be without sin than to just say “I’m sinless.” We can get offended and upset at our sinfulness. We might focus on our own injured pride rather than the sin or the victim of our sin. Rather than just confess it and seek forgiveness, we're maladjusted to the simple fact that we are sinners. We need to genuinely embrace the fact of our sin, confess it before the Lord, and then we will find that "He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
