John 3:16-21 - We who are already condemned before a holy God by our own sin find in God's word that condemnation is in fact not God's plan. God's purpose is salvation and He brings that salvation to us. However, He also gives us the dignity of choosing to accept or reject, and He also gives us the dignity of receiving what we want. It's a fearful day when God lets go, no longer pursues, and says if we don't want His salvation, He won't force it upon us. If men prefer darkness, then one day God will concede, Love will concede and refuse to coerce, and with no pleasure at all in it, God will let go. Until that day, however, the offer still stands.
