Contrary to the modern media notion of love as primarily emotion, the bible asserts love is action, is concrete, and involves loving each other. But the bible doesn't condone a merely insular Christianity. Rather, loving each other deeply within the church inevitably leads the church to engage our world with the same love embodied in actions, life on life. ( notes)
