1 John 4:9-12, which was our recent Devotional text, truly exemplifies the Christmas story, where God crossed the vast distance for the sake of being with us, and also to meet our greatest need for the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. This was the theme for our Taiwan Winter Mission team, who crossed the distance to be with students of another culture, and brought the message of Christmas right to their campus. We, too, are called to embody God's love in this way, "journeying" to connect with others, even if it's just crossing the distance of a room, or between two personalities and two hearts.
