Jesus, though a good man, bore the pain and shame of the cross. Yet in his darkest moment in Mark 15:33-47, he inspires greater faith in God for those who are facing times in which God seems painfully absent. And on the cross he proclaims God's love as he makes possible a restored relationship between us and God.
