Luke 24:13-35 describes the experience of the two downcast disciples, heading out of Jerusalem towards Emmaus, encountering the resurrected Jesus. Their disappointment with the events of the weekend were based on their misaligned expectations of what following Jesus meant. Life is always going to throw us disappointments, but the risen Jesus invites us to hear God's word, find your dwelling with Him, and find an answer to our despondent hearts.
